The academic year 2022/23 has not even started yet, and here is such news!

Blumilk CEO, and above all our leader and teammate, PhD Eng. Piotr Nadybski, took over the position of Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Collegium Witelon State University in Legnica on October 1, 2022.

This is a great pride for us! We hope that the new role at the University will further consolidate our position in the academic environment and allow for even better cooperation between modern business and the world of science. Even more innovation, support for student development and promotion of modern teaching methods.

We all congratulate Piotr and wish him success in his new role!

Since the beginning of Blumilk, we have been striving for close cooperation with the academic community. We can say that our mission is to actively participate in the development of education in the IT industry in Legnica, but also outside our beautiful city.

Recently, we wrote about our cooperation with Collegium Witelon State University, including our involvement in organizing scientific conferences. Today, we have the great pleasure of sharing with you the information that we have become one of the sponsors of the international international conference "Innovative solutions in the economy Smart Economy & Smart Industry 2022" organized by the Faculty of Technical and Economic Sciences.

As part of the plenary session, entitled E-Business & E-Industry, our leaders - Dr. Eng. Piotr Nadybski (CEO) and M. Eng. Krzysztof Rewak (CTO), will give a presentation on "Using intelligent optimization methods to improve the efficiency of production processes". This is an extremely important topic for the modern economy, which can bring significant benefits to companies striving to increase their competitiveness on the market.

Multi-level cooperation
Part of our team works as teachers at the University, creating and updating syllabuses and more. Thanks to this, the curriculum is adapted to the current needs of the IT market, and students have the opportunity to learn on the latest tools and technologies.

Internship program
At Blumilk, we also run an open internship program for the most talented students of Computer Science. The most diligent have the opportunity to gain practical experience and see what it's like to work in a dynamically developing software house. Our interns don't make coffee, unless it's for themselves ;)

Scientific conferences
We like challenges! We are involved in organizing scientific conferences, often also taking part in discussion panels. We encourage students, employees of the University, but also anyone who feels passionate about technology and science to actively participate in such meetings. It's a great opportunity to establish contacts and gain valuable knowledge from experts.

We greatly appreciate the fact that we are part of the substantive, but also organizational support of the University and we hope that our further cooperation will bring only juicy fruits!

Fans of the Laravel framework and not only, we invite you to the first stationary edition of Laravel Poland MeetUp SUMMER VIBES in two years!

June is a time of dynamic changes in Blumilk! New projects, new challenges and new people on board. For us, this is a great reason to celebrate and integrate.

Almost the entire team met by the lake, where we organized a company integration event. We have been working together for a while now, but we will always find time and willingness to strengthen bonds and recharge our batteries together. We are glad that our team is growing and we count on even more such shared moments in the future.

With new strength, we are entering probably the most intensive month in our history. June promises to be full of work, but also successes... Stay tuned... Sleeves rolled up, we are ready!

Programmers are usually generally aware of how the MIT license works. What should we do when we start including more libraries in our project, and each of them has a different license? Can we make money on such programs? Do we have to add the names of the creators of the dependencies used? Are we at risk of legal liability?

Joanna Rewak from the Legal Adviser's Office Joanna Rewak, a lawyer at Blumilk, will dispel any doubts about open source licenses using the Laravel framework and its popular dependencies as an example during Laravel Poland Meetup #22, on May 19, at 6:00 PM

Joanna will discuss the steps that need to be taken to ensure license compliance and avoid legal problems:

• MIT License - using the MIT license and what are its limitations.
• License diversity - How to deal with projects containing libraries with different licenses, such as GPL, Apache, BSD, and others.
• Software commercialization - Can we make money on programs containing open source software and what conditions do we have to meet?
• Copyright - When and how do we need to acknowledge the authors of dependencies used in our projects?
• Legal risk - What are the potential consequences of violating open source licenses and how to avoid them?
